I work with a guy whose half-sister got blackout drunk and drove the wrong way on the interstate. This is after just receiving her 7th DUI and having an interlock device. She still had her ankle monitor on, but lied and said she was at a work event. She hit a family traveling in the correct direction, a mother, father, and two children. The father died. The guy I work with was hoping she'd get at least 15 years. She got two. Her daddy is a big shot pediatrician that now focuses on Marijuana. He's an alcoholic too. I couldn't be more disappointed in our system. Race will inevitably get brought up, so just know they're a toasted shade of wheat.
