there is a local intersection about the same configuration and markings. The locals know that the left turn lane gets jammed up at the intersection, so to not block the left traffic lane you activate your left turn signal and cross the double yellow. The truck would not be happy if he had to wait for the car to move into the turning lane when it opened up. It's actually the law in Michigan to use your turn signal Before changing lanes - If the truck would have let the car know he intended to change lanes he probably would have let him in. If the car moving ahead of the truck is the only reason for the rage its totally on the truck for not signaling his intentions.
