Teachers try to teach proper English, when they say"lay" is what chickens do. Chickens lay eggs. When you rest or recline, the word is"lie", so people should be teaching their dogs to lie down, not lay down, because their dogs are not chickens. All that education gone to waste! As they say: Ignorance is bliss!
