I thought nobody showed up and I was going to cry for your dad. He sounds like the neighbor we all wish we had. I just found out the best neighbor ever has cancer in her breast, liver, and colon this morning. She has lost a noticable amount of weight and hadn't been waving. Walked the dog this morning and happen to catch her outside. I feel so damn bad and there's nothing I can do. She was so helpful to my mom and I when my dad passed from cancer. today sucks!

My dad was just like this guy. We lived in a cul-de-sac and my dad working for the city used to block off the entrance to the block and have big party for 4th of july . music , food , kids on toys, pot luck. Now politics divides everyone.

It’s nice to see that ppl want to know their neighbors…..congrats to dad for doing that…. I would have stopped just to say hi and say I’m from 2 blocks up…. When I was growing up neighbors would wave blow the horn going by today they do drive by shootings to say goodbye and kiss my ass

That's nice. I lived in brooklyn ny 30 yrs and they had one every yr. But the one I remember was my first one...WIt was over 100 degrees and had a great day but went up at 11pm worn out to a frazle to a message in my machine that my mom died.

We need to bring this back! Growing up we had block parties twice a month and everyone came together as a community. If a neighbor was struggling we all helped out. My mom used to homeschool her 4 kids plus other kids in the neighborhood to help out.
I used to live in Little Rock and our streets, usually 2/3 streets would have huge block parties a couple of times a year. OH, how I miss those parties. So tell your Dad he's an amazing person and thank you for sharing.♥️🙏♥️👋👋👋

I loved when we had block parties growing up, everyone knew each other on our block, but it was nice hanging out, eating, getting together, chilling, playing, etc etc, those the good ole days but maybe that’s how everyone knew each other because of the block parties👍👍🥰🥰😄😄🙏🙏
