Reminds me of my Army bootcamp graduation back in '77. My family drove from Ohio to Fort Dix, New Jersey for the ceremony, having not seen me with my burr haircut (my hair was almost shoulder length when I went in). Over 300 soldiers graduated that cycle. From the spectator stands, she picked out someone in one unit and started crying, then my brother said that wasn't me and pointed her to another soldier in another unit. NEITHER of those people were me! I still have the pictures she took, none of them with me in them!
