However, fully automatic weapons CAN be legal in the whole United States, "BUT ONLY!" those lawfully owned (before) May 19th, 1986, with strict federal registration, taxes, and background checks. While new machine guns are absolutely federally banned in the entire United States! Please reference to the: Firearms Owners' Protection Act (FOPA) of 1986.
