we had a big Lab he was a protector me, the grand kids the car but not my husband. the females he only had training to walk sit speak sit stop and go fetch came natural. I have always wondered why he wasn't worried about my husband. they played together, ran, played ball anything fun yet no protection???

I had a German Shepard/ Rottweiler mix dog that did that same exact thing. No one could come in my house unless I said it was okay even then he was very watchful. He was even very protective of my cats. They would all sleep together. 🥰

There are some people who don’t understand a dog’s protective nature. While I’m walking my dog, I often warn strangers not to pet my dog, but sometimes they don’t listen. He’s a rescue, and had been terribly abused during the first three years of his life. He is very sweet around me and people he knows, but won’t let a stranger within 10 feet of me. One lady was offended when he barked at her, saying “He’s the most anti-social dog I’ve ever seen!” I love him…he’s the best dog I’ve ever had♥️
