my wife and I had a corgi mix. he was the best little guy. we rescued him after he was hit by a car. for a week he would not eat, then I made chief salads for dinner loaded with everything. turned out he was a vegetarian dog, he got salads every night for his dinner. his favorite food was broccoli.

I had a cat that loved any type of greens. i had to lock on my house plants away because she would eat them. She would have been a vegetarian if I had let her her favorites were spinach and lettuce, but unfortunately cats can only have a small amount. she had to be satisfied with catnip and oat grass.

well the dog would be the closest thing to comparable stomach yes they have high pH but they digest the same , infact their gut biome is weaker than ours cause onions and garlic are extremely poisonous to them . so if a dog won't eat it you shouldn't either , and before you say well dogs eat poop .. poop is literally just the food that was eaten that didn't dissolve fully.
