Laws need to change protecting people who put their hands on someone knowing that if the individual is male and they do something to defend themselves in any way, they will go to jail. Any woman or man who gets hit by another man or woman, should be able to defend themselves/stopping the other person from continuing to harm them. For women though, if you already know a man is physically stronger than you and the ONLY reason he would not hit you is because he would go to jail, you don’t have a relationship worth holding on to -and I’d be willing to bet that one day when you’re all up in his face instigating and threatening to using the law against him-while you’re laying hands-he might think jail would be a peaceful place and you may get a little surprise. Then still risking the father’s safety.
