My momma made us pick our own switch. yes it left whelps for an hour or two. I told my kids to pick a switch. IT WAS NOT ABUSE! It was discipline and I believe a few more kids now could use a switching 🌸🌸
They call all of this child abuse these days…I think by reading all the comments we all understood and got spankings with something because we deserved it..
I got the switch , the belt , & the hand..plus what happen someone else did it I was at my friend house & her parents were with us the whole time. I still got the belt , had belt marks all on legs & everywhere for weeks! some kids broke into our apartment & was there when my father came home. only one exite , second story! I came home & & there was my parent with a belt & 2 kids he cornered sitting there & whipped me for at least 15 mins with them watching the rest of those they were with jumped out the windows before I came home. . . didn't deserve it , I was not at home when they broke inside. parents could dothat when we grew up & the cops looked the other way. No rights or justice for children then, plus parent didn't press charges on the 2 kids that were cornered yet in our apt. .
Abuse is a billy club, gun, choke holds, hand cuffs, a prison cell. From no discipline at all.

My mom made us bring the switch to her before she whooped our asses! She even put pepper on our tongues if we lied. Wow children and youth services would have got her now! Back in the day kids respected parents!

I went to college in KY, some parents there made their misbehaving children go outside and get a switch, ( break a branch off of a tree ) so that they could whoop them. My nephew's little friend was at the house playing, they were 6 or 7 years old, the girl's Father called on the phone to tell her she had to go home, well she was having so much fun she didn't go home, he came over irate telling her she was going to have to get a switch when they got home, I, at 20 years old, yelled at him that he better not hit her and I said. "When you were a kid, you never had so much fun at a friend's house that you wanted to stay there?!" I dont know if he hit her or not, I hope not, I mean, she was having fun with her friend, what was the crime?
we need to find a better way to discipline our children. it did nothing for me but brought a lot of anger and hate. I got a lot about I don't know who did it some beating everybody. we ain't no damn where the baby brother didn't you just didn't want to hit him. and then he would end up getting away with it because you say he's the baby. I got brutalized often as a child. I was number eight of the 10 of us. the first born of the second marriage after my mother's first husband died. my first seven siblings look different than I did because I had a different father of course. ahead brighter skin is silky hair. they hated me for that and then they abuse me while smiling. I hate them and I don't think much of my mother for the when it was going on and did nothing and threatened to beat the hell out of me some more when I show my wealth it up bloody body and say that better not tell Daddy because he got on her nerves when you are getting her.
I've been on the other side too. that's what's wrong with kids. If they got their butt switch they wouldn't be so disrespectful toward others and the parents. shame parents don't want to be parents. Then don't have kids

yes I remember when my mom was holding my left arm and I was running in a circle and she was wearing the back of my legs out. but that was because of my poor decisions. lessons well taught
