An old friend of mine back in the late 90s bought a newer bmw. He drove it home and the heater core blew out. It was 1G to replace and I can only imagine the price today. I had to do a heater core in my 82 cutlass and it was $40 with 30 minutes of my time.

When driving electric all there is, is a magnetic motor and battery So when driving the motor slows the vehicle down more then you applying brakes which recharges the battery every time you slow down or stop. That is why you get more range when driving city or towns is because all the stop and go traffic it helps by charging the battery also your speeds are lower while driving in town
