that's why when I was a cook before I resigned I would cook what we call "family dinner" everyone got to eat. some of my coworkers had two jobs and didn't have time to eat or was running a little late so we would set a plate on the side for them. I had an awesome crew. we appreciated each other.

When I was a manager I gave my people free meal and drink, to take home with them so they could relax and eat in peace, sometimes we would exchange food with other restaurants for a change of taste. It’s clear the employee likes the food here😁

I get the comments that fall on the worker’s side but what most people DO NOT understand is the low margins (3-5%) most restaurants operate on. They have to pay for the facility, utilities, maintenance both inside and out, equipment that wears down, taxes, insurance, salaries, employee disability, and on and on. My parents had a restaurant and I never understood how they made a damn dime after expenses. Mom did what she could for her few employees but, damnmit, people, none of my employers through the decades game me free food or drink. Maybe you think bank workers ought to get free cash or department store workers should get free merchandise. THINK!!!

you'd be surprised to know that some places actually put cameras in the bathrooms and I mean right over the stalls looking right down between your legs how do I know this I used to sell cameras and I got to ask can I install them that way I always told him no that's up to them to do it themselves.

I remember having to get food anyway I could to feed my 3 children and 5 grandchildren while attending nursing school. I'm not proud of opening a bag of rice in the store and pouring it in my pocket. One day a lady saw me. I was sure she was going to report me to the store owner. instead of filming or reporting me, she went and got a bag, helped me put the rice in it , bought me 2 chickens and 20 addional pounds of rice and a few other things. I am 70 years old now with multiple degrees because someone understands.
