Not worth the effort to eat it.
I remember the first time I saw an alligator gar, in the river where I fished as a kid ! I thought I'd witnessed some long extinct creature ! And it didn't matter what you threw in the water, they would go after it ! That was better than 50 years ago !
I use to have 4 as pets in a 500 gallon fish tank but they started to eat each other until there was only 1

yep. grew up with this stuff
that makes some pretty badass casing for armor like get you some Kevlar and some tungsten plate layer the whole thing dragon scale style and cover the entire thing in gar skin.
