Lot of good meat there. My grandmother's neighbors died. Their children, were active shark fishermen who came weekends to Shell Beach from Fresno or Bakersfield. They always brought us clean, delicious, shark meat. They used baseball bats and a large manta ray with its wings chopped off ( they would catch these in the morning with a row boat, then take a nap till eleven PM. The manta ray was out in a cable and it was placed in the surf. As sharks came into the shallows to dine, they got, well, "whacked!" I think the bats were leaded. Shark was killed fairly fast, as opposed to suffering on a line of some kind? I made sandwiches with shark meat. Awesome. Delicious!
