Miami-Dade Sheriff's Deputy Devin Jaramillo was fatally shot with his own service weapon after responding to a vehicle crash where a verbal dispute escalated into a physical altercation with suspect Steven David Rustrian. Rustrian disarmed Jaramillo and shot him multiple times before taking his own life. Tributes for Jaramillo, a "home-grown hero," came from Florida leaders including Gov. Ron DeSantis and Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava.
