HOT

This is: "Böreği (Water Börek) is a highly regarded, traditional Turkish savory pastry known for its moist, tender, and layered texture. It is considered one of the most popular and "king" of all börek types in Turkey.  ●Key Characteristics and Preparation The "Water" Method: The name comes from its unique preparation technique, where thin, homemade sheets of dough (yufka) are briefly boiled in water before being assembled. Structure: The dish is constructed in many layers, with each layer brushed with butter and oil to create a rich, savory pastry. Fillings: The most traditional filling is a mix of white cheese (beyaz peynir or feta) and parsley. Alternatives include minced meat, onions, and tomato sauce. Texture: It is described as a cross between lasagna and pastry, with a crispy top and a soft, moist inside." *continued

Not Böreği. It is Börek. If it is certain type that you first cook the dough in water, then oven, it is called Su Böreği. Turkish uses suffixes to assign belonging unlike Latin languages. General name given to this category of pastries is Börek.

That looks like insulation taken out of an attic from the 1950’s but it’s not. It’s Böreği, a Turkish pastry. That’s a heads up to all you philistines out there.
