I can still do that without any water......
That would've helped me. I used to work at fast food restaurant. First day at work at breakfast they told me any broken yolk I would have to eat the egg. Ate almost a dozen eggs that day. Freaking over easy.
Thats how I make my "Dippy Eggs" I love the sauce the yolk makes 😋
they are called basted eggs. for poached you use much more water.
I started doing that in the 80s poached
u can do that without water and it over cooks ur yoke if u dont do it correctly.
I learned that when I was 10 years old nothing new

It can be done without the water, but by the time the whites are cooked, the yolks get too solid.
Do your eggs look like this? I am a breakfast chef and I just learned this method. Always buy , as they are fresh, double yolkers, and the jumbo eggs, white eggs.🥰

I used to be a breakfast/ lunch cook at HJ restaurant, and that’s how I was taught to cook poached eggs, on the grill. Still don’t eat them 😀
I always use water and if I'm not around my house and I'm around a microwave I just put my eggs in the microwave
