I don't prefer coolwhip on my pie. I'm weird. Pecan Pie should be made with dark Karo and twice the pecans called for in recipe on jar. I also add a half teaspoon extra salt. I bake mine a little extra to get that crunch around the crust. Pecan pie is my favorite! my favorite to bake too! No whip!
SOOO many comments condemn the deconstruction of a pecan pie to use to make a trifle. It's the SAME PIE, ITS JUST SERVED IN A WAY THAT WILL STRETCH THE DESERT to SERVE MANY MORE PEOPLE. Then, people can take as little or as much as they want. Much less waste, too! Jeez guys!
Good grief. You are just being shown a way to make a simple dessert. You DO NOT have to copy what he did. If you want fruit instead of pie or cake...change it up . Nothing is set in stone. Use your imagination for Pete's sake!

Terribly calorie dense, doesn’t have any favorable nutritional contents as in fruits, it looks delicious, but fruits can be made wonderful as well. This is all processed. Please think our health when selecting recipes to share. Sugar contributes to inflammation,all illnesses. Thank you.

Everyone complaining about cut the pie up. When you have a lot of people to feed this is an excellent idea to do. We have Sunday Funday and so usually always at least 10/12 people and I do deserts so it would go farther.

I make this with just chocolate pudding and Cool Whip. You can use any flavor of pudding. The first time was for Thanksgiving, so I used pumpkin pudding. But now everyone just wants chocolate. (me too 🥰)

The best nut pie? Grab your favorite pecan pie recipe, but substitute black walnuts for the pecans!! Black walnuts are bitter, not sweet-ish like pecans, so the black walnuts cut WAY BACK on that normal sickly sweet pecan pie flavor. In fact, I haven't made a single pecan pie since trying black walnuts instead! I just buy the nuts in bulk and start baking 🥰
