Just in case no one posted the answer….. It’s a paper plate with a hole cut in the middle. The hand is covering the hole when it covers the top of the pan. While they are tapping the pan with the spoon the person holding the paper plate sticks his fist through the hole in the paper plate and that is what you are seeing when they lift the pan up.

1st. when I have dinner at home I want a traditional plate fork and spoon. .
