I would not use the egg carton because of cross contamination with the eggs.

Egg cartons are NOT that sanitary! We have chickens and gift or sell eggs to friends and family, reusing store egg cartons. We do not wash our eggs (for longer storage and no refrigeration needed) and we tell everyone this. Putting raw dough on cardboard that contained eggs and cannot be cleaned is a very iffy food sanitation issue, imo. 馃槵馃ぎ Use a mini cupcake pan or similar. 馃悢馃

This does look creative!I would reverse the order of tasks, leaving the dough work for close to last. Working with phyllo, usually calls for keeping it frozen until the last minute.
