What's truly amazing is that 4 drummettes were placed in the pan before the lid was placed on the pan, then 5 pieces were cooking throughout, and then finally 4 pieces were seen finished on the platter. What happened here? A taste test?

That kinda makes sense, because the water boils off and leaves all the good stuff behind to finish the chicken.
My mom always cooked this for us. We grew up calling it sticky chicken.. love it .
I've been doing this for years. Once it's boiled, I either let it fry when the water boils out or I put the chicken in the air fryer for a crispy outside.
