My nextdoor neighbor is a nurse practitioner. She went to London for the 2025 Marathon. Her first steps on a London street, she was holding her phone in front of her trying to make sense of GPS directions. A boy on a bike snatched it outta her hands & sped off. She panicked & just started yelling for help. A man behind her came sprinting down the block & chased the bike. The kid saw him, got scared & wrecked. The sprinter knocked him down & a crowd pummeled him on the sidewalk. The sprinter retrieved her phone & put it in her hands, walking quickly away, hissing quietly, "Put yer phone in yer purse!" An old man with a heavy English accent stuck his head out a second story window. "Is that the boy on the bicycle again? He's a MENACE!" he said, while the crowd continued to beat & kick the would-be thief while untangling him from his bike. It was so surreal, she felt like she was in a movie. Put that in your pipe & smoke it the next time somebody wants to tell you how lawless England is.
