In this day and age, you need to set boundaries prior to the date. No "friends" suddenly showing up. The date is between the two of you. If either insists that the friends stay, let it be known that the others will be paying for their own meals. You are not a free money train. Whoever did the inviting is the one paying unless you both decided on Dutch prior.
