She is facing some criticism for taking the family dog, but leaving the kids behind in their beds. Honestly if my dog was by me and I was having to go through this, I’d grab up my dog too. I already can’t get to my kids and that would make me feel like my heart was plummeting to to hell already, but I also would hate for anything to happen to a yappy dog. It would just make the situation even worse by barking making unnecessary noise and chaos. She did what she could. Now while he calls she can check her kids through windows or get a gun. There’s something to be said for a good old fashioned land line in your home. No trying to remember where your cellphone is, just grab it, dial 911 and run or hide if necessary. Police will come to investigate an open line 911 call even if you can’t talk to dispatcher.
