July 2020. John Lee Cowell was sentenced to life in prison without parole for the fatal stabbing of Nia, with special circumstance allegations -- lying in wait for concealing his intent and then killing her by taking her by surprise. The jury also found him guilty of premeditated attempted murder for stabbing Nia’s sister, Letifah. He made no statement and showed no remorse or emotion. Cowell missed most of his own trial, due to outbursts and refusing to appear in court. The judge denied his insanity plea.

I Googled her name and at the top was Wikipedia. It told the whole story including videos of her murderer. Apparently, she was with 2 of her older sisters. He followed them off the train, slashed her neck AND stabbed 1 of her sisters in the neck. Anyway, Google her name.
