If you live in the UK, the UK is in the middle. The maps are made in relation to the country in which they are distributed. The UK version has north, south America and Africa smaller while the UK is bigger. It also STATES THE SIZE DISCREPANCIES!! Only fools take a world map at face value. Only fools teach world maps at face value. Look at a globe, it's more accurate. How are we supposed to flatten a globe without distorting land masses and oceans? We can't. According to this lady, just because a way was found to flatten a globe, the maps are racist.

The map we use was originally for sea travel. So all the maps brought here were for seat travel and it was just normalized. Not everything is racist they’re practical reasons.

She is wrong. Maps are projections on flat surface of a round earth and distorted due to the type of projection used. You can have a map that is not distorted if it takes into account the type of projection used and corrects for it. It has nothing to do with race like this guilt ridden white woman always turns everything into.

This is called a projection, most likely the Mercator projection. Because the earth is a sphere and that map is flat distortion is unavoidable and map makers generally leaned towards distortion that helped the best with navigation. If you want an accurate map, you need to get a globe.
