bunch of made up crap. my dad was an engineer working for Raychem in California. One day in the 80's he brought home some wires from work. when we dropped the straight wire into hot water it bent into a shape that spelled "I ❤️ YOU" . it was neat. there was no mystery though only science. from what I remember it was experimental irradiated metal.
the last part about the plains would be bad to use on that because the ocean is cold so as you say when it's cold it becomes soft that would kill the pilot. if what you're saying is true it would need to hit hot water to stay strong. 😂
