I remember when I was in my early teens. My father had a pocket watch that did not work. I decided to take it to a jeweler to get it repaired. The jeweler said to come back the next day. I did. He stated that he had another one that did work. I did not know better. When I showed my father what I had done. He told me it wasn't the same value. I learned not to trust people. No matter their position in life.
It's a pawn shop not an antique shop. They sell it for gold and jewel value. They're just gonna melt it down.

I worked at a jewelry store. we knew the diamond at cost was 6 thousand dollars without a setting. we wanted to know what the pawn shop across the street would offer. so we sent one of our female sales staff over to the pawn store. they offered her 150 dollars in a setting. The diamond was a one carat near flawless in a beautiful setting. Late 90's in Dayton, Ohio

she really did not know how much to watch were so she just went to the pawn shop but she was smart enough to say no when the man offered her $150🥰 but she went to a professional and told her how much the watch was really worth and she said that she have not seen one of these watches and a very long time it is a rare antique
