My mama lives 20 minutes from me but I cant go unless Im invited. She prefers her routine and as much as it hurts, I respect it. I love that woman so much but she is set in her ways so I always try to respect her wishes. We tell each other we love each other all the time. There is no animosity. I grew up in the system so we only bonded the most when I was little. Before she got remarried and the abuse began. I used to be angry all the time and resentful. Then I learned that hurt people hurt people and she is still carrying wounds from her childhood. I will never stop loving her. She deserves to heal and she deserves her peace. Some people have wounds they carry that we cant see. We just have to love and meet them where they are at. And always have hope!

Truth of the story is that his mom gave him up for adoption. He was raised by an elderly woman. His "father" ended up NOT being his biological father. He found his biological father a couple years ago. And when God gave him songs, the church condemned it and chastised him. Now he's raising children with ZERO father nor mother influence! Yet we expect perfection from him. We must learn to lift everyone up. And not expect that his gifts mean that he doesn't need pouring into. Bless you Kirk!!!

GOD knew before you were born the life you have. He blessed you with a gift to be able to uplift people. You still have to honor them, God knows some of us are gonna have crappy parents. Listen, Kirk reached out to both of them in his documentary, he also visited his bio dad and had conversations with him. Everytime you bring up a subject like THIS of course one will be emotional 😢 We are human! He is able to talk and teach us about the struggles of abandonment.
