I, at one time, was in that despair hitting rock bottom. And I mean rock bottom. For some time, it was like a dark cloud had enveloped me. The anxiety, fear, sleeplessness, worry, deep, deep depression, and reality washed over me non-stop.For the first time in my life, and tears streaming down my face, I reached up both hands and said, "Jesus, please, help me." A soft, still voice inside me said, "It's time to sleep." So for the first time in well over a year, I laid down and slept. No anxiety, no haunted thoughts of destroyed lives by my hand, I slept. When I woke up some days later, there was a peace in my soul. It was far more than just being well rested and refreshed. It was a peace that went so deep, I just sat on the edge of my bed and held it. I began then to read the Bible. With intent on learning who this WONDERFUL GOD is. It took me on a journey that continues today after 28 years.
