Days later he and mom are caught in Miami trying to leave the country. That new real ID will stop anyone from escaping the country.

There's no way that's his mother. You know, kids don't get it. I did a lot of street racing years ago. Up until I saw a crash that nearly killed everyone. Where we went there really shouldn't have been traffic, especially at the time of morning we'd go. They had all the radios and scanners and everything. But, you can't plan for everything. The end of the quarter mile was by a freeway offramp. A van, a family of tourists had gotten lost, and didn't have their headlights on. Exited the freeway in the pitch dark, right as the racers were crossing the finish line. Both cars hit the van. I wasn't normally up by the end, but that night I was. I never went back again. You know, as a teenager, young adult, you think it's fine, that the police just want to harass people, but it's the real world with real-world consequences.

So this is a comment from another one this feed about the story: He was racing his BMW against another. Driving recklessly, he caused his BMW to strike two other cars. His car flipped and rolled. Two of his passengers were ejected, and one was killed. Other victims were injured. He and his girlfriend fled the scene. Police found out that he and his mother had fled to Miami and were attempting to flee to Albania, her home country. They had purchased Florida identification cards, two "one day" passports, and tickets to Albania.
give him life in prison and his mother 40 yrs in prison !
