The clean air certified means it will only idle for 200 seconds unless you push the "engine override" button it's annoying as hell, when you're sleeping in 100 degrees and the engine and AC turns off , it's an automatic button pusher, that could easily make this person a billionaire and loved by all

it's a political argument because politicians put this dumbass law in place to piss off truck drivers and deter from taking the job...they are making self driving rigs for the time we welcome it like we do self checkout b/c they let check out service get so bad first. think of the Canadian trucker protest a few years ago...they don't want that to happen - starts with BS laws, ends with taking the job from us...just look around

Release Tractor, leave trailer set. Thts also a weird Lil trick to keep from shutting down. Or if u can control idle speeds when stationary, set idle to 1040-1060, this will also keep unit from shutting down. But, if u are a company driver, these companies can now see ur idle time and will reduce pay for extensive use of idle times.
the only tractors that don't do that are the ones that run a pto.
Its ridiculous that drivers need to do this. Most of them sleep in the cab in hot summer and cold winter so they need the engine on so they dont die lol

I turn on cruise control and bump idle up 1 time and chill
it's time to face facts we need God now more then ever because man has lost its way guides by the devil's hand
You were able to bypass the 5 minute idle by bumping the RPMs higher at idle, but engineers found out and programmed them differently. Then you were able to release the tractor brakes and leave the trailer brakes applied to bypass the 5 minute shutdown (not recommended), but again, engineers changed it. On the new ones now, you can't bypass them unless you buy this gadget. I have a laptop that allows me to bump up the idle times or deactivate it completely. I dont like to deactivate them, but I do bump them up when asked to.
yeah that's real quick cute making them shut off after a certain amount of time and then when it's 10 degrees. they won't restart

If my truck decides what it wants to do, it gets returned to the dealership. They'll stop building this crap, just as soon as you all stop buying it! Call their bluff.
have your mechanic disable it 🤣 Takes a minute and eliminates this crap.When you are waiting to load in a line this gets extremely irritating.I asked the mechanic to deactivate it and up my governor to 80mph....Truck works much better for the job it is needed for.
