That's exactly the reason why I decided to take care of my Mother. She's 88 and I'll be damned if I send my Mother to a nursing home
whoever this is thank you so much for reporting her! I have seen so many people in the health industry that just do it for our paycheck. You're right If you don't have the heart to care for others do not pick this job! God bless you for standing up. We need more people like you. and I hope that person will never step foot in another home health care hospital etc ever again! Thank you again

You gotta be some kinda different person to work at a nursing home and it not get to you…NOW it doesn’t mean you don’t care it just means you gotta be of strong character to be able to work there… and if you’re not able find another job…there are other jobs regarding care….

I had to leave the nursing home after only 2 years. I couldn't do it. I was abused by all the other CNAs and nurses. I couldn't handle watching them double and triple pad patients I would discover it because they would make me take everybody in the facility to the bathroom. and yes I did report them. nothing ever got done. I left when I found a patient crying cuz she was so hungry and said she hadn't eaten that day not allowed in her wheel chair. I looked at her daily report card it said 100% at meals. I was going to speak to nurse and as I was walking out the room I heard something in bathroom. (she had a private room) opened door the CNA was in the bathroom eating her tray. reported it. I was told she's a slow eater and nobody has time for that. come to find out the only food she had had and the 8 days she was there was applesauce that was pushed down her throat basically with a syringe. I left at that moment and contacted her family

I've worked at a few nursing homes and they are very abusive and if their Love ones and family doesn't come to check in on them it's even Worse and they keep their money too. so I UNDERSTAND how YOU FEEL it's gonna take more than just YOU and ME STANDING up for whats RIGHT 👍👍👍👍👍

your so right, it's sick . I had to step away from health care for the elderly bc the things I have seen. they sit in their own soiled mess, not getting bathed, bruises, sores it's disgusting how ppl treat our elders. But I also knew if I didn't go back things wouldn't change maybe not for all but for some of those that I could help.prayer to you.

I used to work in a nursing skill facility and I understand very well of what she saying I used to watch other AIDS how they treat the patients and this one girl that I worked with and I thought she was cool she used to eat their food tell them to shut up half the time they wouldn't they them change them and I couldn't understand how people hearts could be that way. until a few years later I ran into her and I looked at her hand she only had two fingers on that same hand that you used to mistreat those patients. God sees everything that you do to the elderly and children.😰

yes! I worked in the nursing home kitchens several times. some are good and some pick and choose who they are good to. in my observation anyways

Yes you did the right thing! DO NOT feel bad for having heart. I used to work in the kitchen of a home and I have seen so many CNAs who done them dirty. Like the whole place was corrupt. We had one CNA who drove a big fancy truck, hair done, nails done… she was a Senior CNA… turns out she was taking from the elderly, over time she was able to afford all that from what she took. She was eventually discovered by a resident’s family by taking his bank card. She was investigated and the company didn’t do nothing to her, she still kept her job, not even criminal charges (unless she kept under wraps) but she still kept her job. I left the facility because there was just too much. People need to stop taking their elders to these places if they can take care of them at home. It wasn’t good watching them silently suffer and we could t help them…

that's why my mom died at canaburry nursing home in shepherds town. she starved. also. she had dimencia and couldn't feed herself. u are a caring woman and God bless you
I worked in one too as an assistant cook...after my food went out so did I...I checked that all my food preparation was up to par with the residents, did see a few times the folks weren't eating but it wasn't the food...it's like she said the ones who couldn't feed themselves didn't get help...I know I wasn't supposed to do this but I fed them...I would feed them daily until staff got better, or got more help...it's too sad to see our elderly get to the point they go thru this, and that's why folks if you got people in rest homes please check on them.. please...a moment shared...is a moment spared...
You have to have compassion and empathy to work in these facilities, it’s not just about a paycheck
