Had a decomposing smell subsequently getting worse. Checked fridge, took garbage out, checked garbage can for leakage. Bleached sink drain. Nothing obvious. 2 WEEKS later - New can of dog good (only use for giving meds) had a bent can with very small hole. Flies had laid eggs. Maggots apparently couldn’t crawl over 1/8” lip of shelf. Many died but they kept laying eggs. Several LIVE ones, many dead ones. Still traumatized!!! 🤮

I woke up one morning in my house in Florida, walked into the kitchen, and there had to be 5000 maggots, crawling all over the floor have no idea where they came from. I haven't seen them since it was the weirdest thing. It was like edible horror movie. We are very clean people so I have no idea where they came from
Clean your house thoroughly, sanitize and disinfect your floors, walls, counter tops, and appliances at least twice a week. Don't keep leftover food particles from meals in your garbage, immediately through them out in the trash after eating, and don't keep dirty dishes inside your sink. Wash them directly after eating. It sounds like a lot, but trust me, if you want a clean living environment, it's worth the work.
