That is a long tailed giant ichneumon wasp. It searches for larvae in the trees and then they bore their stinger/ovipositor into the trunk and the larva to lay their eggs in them and parasitize the larva.

Ichneumon (not correct spelling) they lay eggs in insect holes. Kills the bad insect eggs, if I remember correctly. They’re a good insect.

The species is probably right, but I think it has been invaded by a horse hair worm and it is working it's way out splitting the abdomen open on the bottom all the way up. zit will eventually leave the host and kill the insect.
