The only reason he wanted you to stop recording is because that cop was about to do or say something, that he knows is unlawful.
As a retired law enforcement officer, cops like this absolutely piss me off!! This poor guy is fully within his rights to record! The cop not giving him his ID is extortion!! Hopefully, this officer is no longer employed, and this man got a nice check for his rights being violated!! BTW, even though the officer told the man he was free to leave, by keeping his ID, any court would rule that a “reasonable” person would feel like they weren’t free to leave!! More zeroes on that check for false arrest!!! 🤬🤬🤬🤬

You know I've been driving for over 60 years and I cannot remember coming across a cop who wanted to cause me problems . The only time an officer goes to extremes is when they encounter someone like this or someone even worse. Police want to go home at the end of the day . People like this guy are just trying to make the police look bad. I'm not naive enough to think there are no cops who are bad , but this officer does not appear to have an attitude towards this person.

I would've left i know my license number, I would've went to his department show them the video, I would've went to the mayors office request for him to see the video or email it to him then I would've put a lawsuit for extortion on the town or city in the officer, that's how you handle a situation like this,
