I have a neuro muscular disease and a hyper mobility disorder. I don't drink. I've had officers lean into me to see if they can smell alcohol. I sway and I'm clumsy. I was terrified as a young teenager of an officer wanting me to do a sobriety test. ( I was 14 and didn't think about the fact that they'd do a breathalyzer). I honestly panicked. I'm now 52 and can still say my ABC's backwards. If I need to talk to an officer, I mention the disorders and how they affect me. It honestly cracks me up when they lean in though.
