I don't understand because a lot of these guys that do this are just mentally unstable. I understand protecting yourself, so just shoot him in the kneecap. He lives another day and can get mental help and learn his lesson.

Most cops are such Cowards..Yes.. the man had a Hammer or something in his hand..I don't think that gives an officer probable cause to shoot him..He could have easily tased the guy..The Cop had a way out he could have just got back in his cruiser if tasing him didn't work..But instead he decides to shoot the guy and probably kill him..The man obviously had some mental issues...That doesn't give an officer the right to shoot him...SMFH..

Shooting someone anywhere has a chance of hitting an artery, if a person has a deadly weapon and the intent to do harm they are a threat, even bullets aren't emmidiaty effective and 1 shot to the leg wouldn't always stop someone, more bullets more chance for person to bleed out, regardless of mental illness he shouldn't take any chances
