It's why he's one of the GREATEST. No steroids. Pure God-given talent.
Todays pitcher can't perform nine innings like the Ryan's, Seaver's, Gibson's etc. Some pitchers back in 60's & 70's would rather do nine or none.

The best pitcher ever with a record that will never be broken 7 no hitters, now with all the help the hitters are getting you be lucky if you ever a 20 game winner.
I saw him at Fenway Park as a young kid in the early 70’s. He was playing for the Angels at the time. It was a rain delay and both teams stunk then. So we were able to move down front right behind the catcher. He was crazy a huge grunt on every pitch and that ball just screamed in. I’ve been to many games since but have never seen anyone throw the ball harder than he did. It was unbelievable how fast he threw. Then the longevity into his mid 40’s.
That's why he's the GOAT.
