This is not real. Most likely from a movie. Umpires take the mask off with the left hand and eject players with the right hand.
All this does is lead to the future and computerized automatic strike zones
I assume umps have much authority on pitch calls because each team might throw 100 + pitches a game. They don't want dozens of complaints about it.
next year, at least in MLB, batter can just challenge the call and without being ejected!

Really bad call. But it's a mistake to show up the umpire by drawing the line. Step out of the box. Turn your head away and mumble. Let out a sigh. The ump will know what you're thinking, but he won't be justified in tossing you. ..I do have to give the young man props for breaking that bat like it was nothing, though.

I was thrown out for the exact thing. unfortunately I was pitching as well and the game was for the city league title! Fortunately there were only two innings left and were up big.

an incident just like this happened in a slow pitch softball game. 2 out bases loaded bottom.ofvthe last inning. Batter was replaced, pitch count stayed the same. The replacement Batter on the next pitch sharply lined a hit down the 3rd baseline clearing the bases and ending up on 2nd base. the game ended on that play. That umpire never called another game in that league
I wish some of these Umps who think for some reason the people are paying to see them, would wake up, they’re not Umps. This was wrong. Hell, I could see from the camera view that the pitch was at least 4 or 5 inches outside, maybe more.
