It's an Electric hot comb. Our hot combs we used back in the day that we put on the stove were made of iron these electric combs don't get hot enough to straighten our hair. I'm 55yrs old still have the same one my mother used on my hair and I've used on my daughter's when they were younger. I'll keep it forever 🙏
the key to any hot comb, you have to use it properly. When pulling it through, you have to use the back of it. it's in the wrist

First, why oil in her hair. She trying to burn her hair out! Electric ones can work well, if turned up high enough. Do the tissue test. If it burns the tissue, it’s too hot for your hair. Is hers even on? Never put grease on your hair! Just frying it
I definitely cut the cord off and placed the hot comb on one of my stove hot burners. 👍It definitely served the purpose.
Definitely not hot enough, she would've flinched when she went to touch the hair after passing over it. I learned in cosmetology school on old-style flat irons, not electric.

First off the hot n gold ones my gma would swear by… don’t get me twisted she also had that stove one and used that on my head too .. had it for generations… but with a hot comb u got to use the back of that comb. This chick is using the hot comb like she’s got a regular comb and that’s not how u use it.

The teeth of the pressing comb isn’t what straightens the hair, actually, it’s the part on the sides, or back of the comb, depending how your looking or holding it. So she just needs to adjust the heat setting (little hotter) and tilt the comb so that the side of it lays flat against the hair, tilting the comb slightly outwards, while gently pulling the pressing comb teeth through the hair. I’ve never ran across any hair that a straightening/ pressing comb couldn’t straighten and I’ve been in cosmetology for 30+ years. A pressing comb put most flatirons to shame, if used correctly!✌️

She's not using it properly. She's using it like a comb. It's the back of the hot comb that straightens the hair. Chile part a smaller piece of hair and try it again. This time as you pull the hair downward through the comb, press the back of the comb against the hair, not your scalp, to straighten the hair.

I'm white but from all the years growing up watching my beautiful friends/sisters of color doing their hair 🥰 I think your suppose to use the flat end of the back of the comb to push down from the roots of the hair and thats the part that actually helps straighten the hair 🤔

Just use straightener...timing is important thou...otherwise hair will break off
