I don't think he was abandoned. I think he is a feral cat. He was a catch and release, I do believe. I get this from his ear tip is cut. That means he was caught, neutered, and then released back outside. This bond is very, very special. You are a good person, and he sensed that and knew you were his safe space. ❤️ He knew he found home with you the moment he saw you.

13 years ago the cat I call Lucky walked into my families life. His leg had been sliced by a fan blade of a car where he had stayed warm. Long story short I couldn't afford the vet I took him in and bandaged him up. 13 years later he is still a part of my family. He is my mom's cat now.

Thank you so much for taking him in. I have a few strays I feed. I will sit outside and they come up to the porch. I will feed them individually and pet them. I have been doing this for at least 5 months.. Some I can pet and love on, some I can't. I say they are my friends. There is one I can sit out there and hold and pet him. We have one that comes in and eats and leaves. I love doing this.

I went to Orphans of the Storm with a friend, she wanted to get a cat. I went with her, she found a cat! I walked around and saw a tiny Tortoise-Shell kitten meowing at me. I got sat down and she let me pet her. My friend was ready to leave, so i went into a room farther away and she followed me. She found a dish of food so I left quickly. When I got to the double door to leave, a man opened the door and I said I needed to leave because I left a kitten in the other room, I was afraid she would follow me. He said, “Oh you mean the one behind you?” I now have lived with her for 14 years and she is the queen of my world.

Reminds me of several of our feral turned pets. I know that God sent them to us. We've had at least least 5 now off and on over several years. we've fixed them all, and currently have 2 left....black and white polydactyl named Figuero, solid black Long haired Bombay with green eyes named Smokey! love them both so much as the others. They come in and go out as they wish.We do keep a litter box just in case. My Figgy is very vocal, too.

good idea with the cat house but anyone reading please don't use blankets in a shelter for outside animals use pine branches or hay the blankets can hold moisture and freeze the animal to death

Great story. My wife and I had a similar experience with a cat that was abandoned and went through a TNR program. He showed up one day full of burrs and I told him, "Young man, you need a brush." I went and got the brush. That was the first time he let me touch him. He is on my lap right now. 🐈

I now have 2 orange tabby the exact same way ! The second one was infested with worms poor guy so we addressed that issue and started working on putting some weight on him I was never a cat person either but these cats have literally stolen my heart! People we need to spay and nutter I never knew it was so bad until I moved to a small town where they are literally everywhere!

Yes ear tip, was given shots, check-up, neutered. He was loved from afar and given a chance at a good life. 🥰 My THIRD feral trap week. 33 done so far. All released back to their original home, and 4 orphaned kittens found homes after 4 months - neutered, shots and ear clips. Have one more trip and ALL my neighborhood cats are UP to date and neutered. Hectic but worth it. BTW I’m a DOG person. BIG dog person. JS

He’s a TNR cat. Was treated by a vet clipped ear and if in Calif was chipped. I do TnR. And some are abandoned. Over years tamed a few and some are great cats. But then some are wild. Just be cautious with handling as I’was but very bad by a momma who had had kittens.
