I was in ICU for 6 days after a head on collision with a box truck crossing into my lane, at night in the pouring rain and no headlights on, and I had major surgery to remove over 1/2 my intestines. My surgeon came in and stated I was the rudest and most disrespectful patient ever. When I asked why???? He said the day before he asked me several questions and I didn’t respond. He’s from India and wears a face mask at all times. And I’m almost totally deaf. I reminded him of that (and pointed to the sign in my room and door stating this) and I asked him repeatedly to say it again. After the 3rd time asking to repeat I will just give a general nod because I’m embarrassed as they’re frustrated with me. He discharged me immediately and got away with it. I talked to the hospital director and he laughed at me. He said she could do nothing because he is chief of surgery there. 😭
