I’m old, nearly 75. I have absolutely no idea who she is, but I agree with her 100%. End the show. Walk off stage. Now the question arises. Refund tickets 100% or a partial %. Her crew needs to be paid, plus the costs for permits and all of the behind the scenes costs that few know about.

(1 of🧵) I'm not familiar with this singer, so I'm speaking perfectly objectively: This video doesn't show a spoiled star being a Diva. It does, however, show what happened when a member of the crowd did something without thinking about -- or without caring about -- the possible end result of their actions. It appears to involve a pretty even 3-way split between DISRESPECT, IMMATURITY, and out-and-out STUPIDITY by the thrower.🔷️The object thrown looks like a big, cuddly stuffed animal, right? No big deal, right?🔷️But what if the next object ISN'T so "smooshy" and soft?🔷️What if someone throws a demo CD -- in its hard plastic gem case -- they want the performer to listen to and "make them a star".🔷️Or they throw the ever-popular bottle/can of beer or soda.🔷️And what happens if any of THOSE objects (or some similarly-hard and/or sharp-edged object) hits the singer's face? Maybe it even hits their eye🔷️Now the "not such a big deal" is suddenly a VERY big deal.🔷️

Even if no one else had plans to throw anything on stage, I give the singer props for walking off that stage; I hope they didn't return.🔷️Going to a live performance is like a contract between the audience and the performer.🔷️The performer promises to make the audience think they're watching magic being made on that stage -- even if the performer has performed those same songs in-concert 200 times, or just had a fight with their partner, or has a cold, or just isn't "feeling it".🔷️In return, the audience promises to have a great time while still being respectful of the performer and the rest of the audience; no purposeful physical contact with the other attendees, and no doing anything that would take others out of the moment, physically harm anyone in any way, or lessen their experience. And that includes agreeing not to throw things!🔷️

(3 of🧵) The idiot who threw the stuffed animal violated their part of the contract; this wasn't a stadium concert, and that was no oversized beach ball being kept in the air!🔷️I admit, I also thought the rest of the crowd should have reacted more harshly when the singer was hit in the face -- e.g., booed -- but they hardly reacted at all. So I wasn't too impressed with the. crowd, either!🔷️So, my "verdict" on walking off? Perfectly acceptable, perfectly understandable. Good for you!🔷️It sucks that you need to teach the crowd manners and respect, but hopefully they'll never throw anything at the stage at another show!🌸

it looks like it was a gift, and the fan just had really bad aim. I think it was taking all out of context, I don't think they were being rude, I think they were trying to show their appreciation and throw her a gift. maybe I'm wrong, but that's what it looks like to me.
