Personal experience, yes a water moccasin will chase you especially if you challenge or try ro kill it. A 5 footer went after a friend. Thank goodness it didn't get to him bite him.

Worked on tugs sence 77 seen snakes all over the barges.even worse in the intacostal form New Orleans to corpus Christie tie up in the trees for fog high winds a southern storm a north western winds—- ran east New Orleans to Columbus Georgia Mobile to yellow creek.hang a line in any tree a you will 7/10 times there probably be a snake on your deck
now we can just show animal abuse.
And now the snake is coiled up somewhere under the barge waiting to come slithering back up on deck unnoticed until he lunges at someone from that pile of rocks!
