She kept going back, and the store eventually gave her the rest of the money only after she was suspicious and called the state lottery and the police. Retail owners do this a lot. So, if you're a lottery gambler, check your own ticket. If you think you won, take a photo and sign it before you give it to the clerk to check

there is a lottery app you can put on your phone thats scans the ticket and tells you if you won and how much... they also have self scans in most places that allow you to check the ticket...
that's why you sign the back and put you're phone # on it people. I do this all the time and one day a clerk sucked his teeth lol always do what the fine print tell you even if you don't win
she should have called the police and made a report at least it would have been documented with the time which would coincide with when the ticket was scanned and went from there you think with everybody taking pictures of everything owadays she should have uld at least took a picture of the ticket before she turned it in especially thinking it was over 500
they are doing the same thing in Mississippi, although you signed your name on your ticket and the clerk told me that the ticket had been cashed in but wouldn't give it back and it was worth over $500.00 . I don't buy scratcher or lottery tickets. I reported it to Mississippi lottery headquarters but nothing was every done. all she did was get one of her friends to come to store and get the money and they split it.
