Cover for Caught this nice 6 foot 6 inch sturgeon in the Columbia River yesterday 6-23-25 out by myself! These larger fish can be a real challenge to get to the boat and unhooked when you are by yourself! I finally managed but it took a lot longer than I was hoping it would! Total fight was about 25 minutes total from hookup to unhooked!#sturgeon #columbiariver #fishingfun

It’s always best to make sure they are plenty tired before you bring them to the boat and try to handle them or unhook them! Bringing this one to the boat before it was ready cost me my fishing plyers!! FISH ON!!##sturgeon #columbiariver #fishingfun

Another oversized sturgeon bites and takes off in the opposite direction peeling line out of the reel and violently thrashing about on the other end of the fishing rod! I believe they are younger and have a healthier growth rate they the state scientists! A eight foot Columbia River sturgeon I believe is 40 - 50 years old!!#sturgeon fishingfun #columbiariver
