On October 11, 2025, a helicopter crashed in Huntington Beach, CA, near Pacific Coast Hwy and Huntington St. at 2:09 p.m. PDT during the "Cars 'N Copters" event. The chopper spun out of control, possibly due to a tail rotor issue or bird strike, hitting trees near the Hyatt Regency. Five people were injured—two from the helicopter, three on the ground—and hospitalized. The FAA is investigating. Pacific Coast Hwy is closed.
