The Israelite School of Universal Practical Knowledge (ISUPK) was formed in 1969 by leaders concerned about the conditions of their people and the differences between the growing Hebrew Israelite Movement. Under the leadership of Commander General Yahanna, who went through the Hebrew academy and rose through the ranks of the Isupk to become a 13-shield general, the ISUPK has bypassed other Black Hebrew Israelite groups to become the pinnacle of the Hebrew Israelite Movement. Black. ISUPK has many community outreach programs, such as free Bible classes, food and clothing programs, employment assistance, and legal aid counseling. Another ISUPK initiative is an extensive prison program that includes Bible classes to assist in the rehabilitation of inmates. These programs are available throughout the country and abroad, including the Caribbean and the United Kingdom. ISUPK has also provided aid to those in need in countries like Haiti and Mexico experiencing civil unrest and scarce resources. The ISUPK has gained traction in the media recently due in part to celebrities publicly affiliating themselves with the Black Hebrew Israelite Movement. Celebrities such as Kanye West, Kyrie Irving, Kendrick Lamar and others recognize the principles of the Black Hebrew Israelites. One of the main principles is that according to the Bible, the true descendants of the 12 tribes of Israel are the so-called blacks, Hispanics and Native American Indians. Due to ignorance and racism, this is being treated as a controversial and conspiracy theory. The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) has called the ISUPK a “hate group” despite the ISUPK's rejection of violence of any kind when not in self-defense. They do not attack anyone personally when they speak in public, but instead teach the Bible to people they want to uplift and whom the rest of the world rejects. Commander General Yahanna teaches these men to be compassionate and caring. However, they are often victims of unprovoked negativity. Most recently they were victims of a terrorist attack in Indianapolis. A Palestinian supporter confessed to intentionally driving a vehicle into our building, claiming that he thought the Isupks were supporters of the State of Israel. They saw the Star of David (called the Shield of David in the correct translation) on the building. The Isupk notes that it is acceptable for other races to fight oppression and condemn injustices against their people. Marches, protests, and cries of “Free Palestine” can be heard in downtown areas and on college campuses across the United States. These protests often end up leading to riots and arrests, but those involved are never convicted or labeled as a hate group. Commander General Yahanna has been at the forefront of the fight against marginalization and racism against Blacks, Hispanics and Native Americans for more than 30 years. He has the solution to fight the problems these people, as well as the United States and the world, face.
